We're going to make it because I love New York, and I love New York because New York loves you! ~  Governor Andrew M. Cuomo

Hello my name is Janet Elias and I absolutely love teaching!  I have been in the field of education for over 20 years. I am guided in my teaching by a strong commitment to creating environments for young children that support creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, curiosity, and mutually-respectful relationships among children and adults.

I graduated summa cum laude from Long Island University /C.W. Post. I received a Masters of Science Degree in Computers in Education. This degree has provided me the skills necessary to evaluate, select, and implement various information technologies. I am able to use these technologies in all aspects of the curriculum. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education. I am a New York State certified Educational Technology Specialist.

Just as my students love to learn so do I. Learning is an essential ingredient of any successful teacher. Therefore I devote a great amount of my time attending webinars and professional development workshops in the fields of education, technology, digital citizenship and community service.

We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.” – David Warlick
